Psychic abilities aren’t a one-size-fits-all gift—they express themselves in completely different ways for everyone. In this two-part series, we’ll explore various psychic abilities: clairaudience, clairsentience, claircognizance, clairaugustance, clairolfactance, and clairvoyance. Each ability is unique and can provide essential insight.

Wait a minute, you say, I didn’t even know there were different types! You’re in the same boat as almost everyone who has a basic understanding of the psychic world. It’s not all tarot cards and psychic phone readings: psychic abilities may encompass one or multiple gifts.
The term “psychic” is broad, referring to any ability that involves perception beyond what we can generally sense with our five ordinary senses. Extrasensory perception (ESP), prophecies of the future, and a sixth sense qualify as forms within this category known as ‘psychics.’ Additionally, the question of where psychic ability comes from has always been a mystery. No one knows for sure, not even professional psychics and readers!
The idea that our souls are connected with others and to Source is becoming more popular. Some people say they have psychic abilities but often can’t explain how it happens. Many describe a sense of just knowing things despite not understanding where this knowledge originated.

We are all born with different gifts and abilities. Let’s take a look at the most popular and rare types of psychic abilities:
1. Clairaudience:
The ability to hear information beyond the normal hearing range is called Clairaudience (clear-hearing). For example, these sounds or voices may come from other people, animals, nature, spirits, or unseen beings., these may be sounds or voices from other people, animals, nature, spirits, or any other source. Furthermore, people who have clairaudient abilities may hear sounds that others cannot hear. They may also receive messages from unseen beings, such as Spirit Guides or Angels.
2. Clairsentience:
Another type of extrasensory perception is Clairsentience (clear-sensing). Consequently, clairsentients sense past, present, or future events and others’ energy and experiences.
3. Clairvoyance:
The gift of Clairvoyance (clear-seeing) is a synonym for the extrasensory perception of any knowledge or consciousness of an event outside of seeing, hearing, tasting, touching, or smelling it. Specifically, clairvoyance is the ability to see things beyond the physical world. This includes being able to see future events, other people’s thoughts and feelings, and even insights into the nature of reality itself.
4. Clairolfactance:
Clairolfactance (clear-smell) is a unique ability that some people possess, and it is the ability to smell emotions. This word, Clairolfactance, is derived from the French’ Clair,’ meaning clear, and ‘olfactance’, meaning olfactory perception. When someone is feeling an emotion, they release chemicals into the air. People with clairolfactance smell these emotions and interpret their feelings.
5. Clairaugustance:
Clairaugustance (clear-tasting) is a form of extrasensory perception that allows an individual to taste something without putting it in their mouth. It is considered a clairsense, a type of clairvoyance that deals with the senses. Clairaugustants can taste different flavors and essences that are not physically present. This ability is often used to taste different types of food or drinks but can also be used to taste emotions and energy.
Clairaugustance is a rare intuitive gift, and much about it remains a mystery. Most people who possess it are born with the ability rather than learning it over time. While some individuals can taste specific colors or even musical notes, others use this sense alongside clairvoyance to help interpret deeper messages.
6. Claircognizance:
Claircognizance (clear-knowing) is the ability to know things without any external evidence or logical reasoning. It is an inner knowing that goes beyond the normal five senses. In fact, many describe claircognizance as a “sixth sense” or “second sight.” People with this ability may receive information in words, images, or feelings, and others may just “know” things without knowing how they know.
