How Often Should You Get a Tarot Reading?

One FAQ is, “How often should I have a Tarot Card reading?” There is no correct answer to this question. It depends on your purpose– what type of reading you are having and how you are using it. If you seek information about what is happening (in general) in the future, you could have a reading every six months or so, or perhaps every year.

This kind of reading involves a more in-depth “spread” or “layout” as some Tarot Readers call it, with more cards in it. Larger spreads allow a broader view of trends possibly happening around you and usually tell the reader whether you are in a time of change or stability: whether new opportunities or people are entering your life or if things will remain the same. In-depth spreads are more accurate when they are not as frequent; however, there are times when events will appear in one reading and disappear in the next reading. For this reason, it is best to take notes so as not to forget the essential details.

Tarot also helps look at one issue at a time, such as if you will get a new job or promotion and, if so, when? Sometimes it takes more than one spread to assess the situation from all angles. The reading might tell you if it is wise to stay in your current job or assist in understanding the motivations of the people around you. If you asked about moving to a new house, the reading might suggest that moving would be disruptive at this time. The Tarot is always more than just “Yes” or “No”: Usually, it gives you some advice or insight.

Try to avoid asking the same thing multiple times: the answers become confusing and not as clear. Keep an open mind and allow time for things to unfold.

By using Tarot wisely, it becomes like talking to a good friend. The answers often open up new ways of looking at our lives that can help us bring out the best for ourselves in the future. Like all good friends it responds best if you take notice of the answers it gives.
