In part one of this series, we discussed the basics of chakras and their positions in the body. Now, let's explore why meditation helps clear the blockages that prevent energy from flowing freely through these channels.


The human body comprises a network of seven chakras, each with a specific function, location, influence, and color.

The chakras are a symbol of our journey towards nirvana. Starting at the base, we work to achieve its height and finally crown ourselves with love to achieve that final state of being complete! When a chakra is out of balance or blocked, it causes an emotional response in the body. For example, the first chakra (known as the root chakra) is at the base level, which means it relates directly to how grounded a person emotionally feels. Everything else becomes much easier for them when the chakra is balanced or the blockage disappears. Imbalance within the root can cause distractions from reality (such as risky behavior).


When there is a chakra blockage, it can feel like something is holding you back. You may have trouble moving forward in life or feel stuck in certain areas. Meditation can help to clear these blockages and get you back on track.

Steps to Clear Chakras:

Find a quiet and peaceful place to sit. Place your feet on the ground and your palms facing up. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths before you start so you can relax.


Next, visualize a bright light. Begin your chakra meditation by focusing on each chakra, one at a time. Spend time visualizing the light shining through the chakra and imagine it becoming unblocked. Continue this until you have cleared all of your chakras.
